Devos 3-26-10

The Lord seems to be really feeding my soul with the verses about betrayal. I have in the last few months have experienced hurt that I cannot even begin to describe and maybe that is why passages dealing with the subject are crossing my path. I read the other day in Psalms 41:9 "mine own familiar friend" and how that person betrayed him.
Today in Psalm 55:12-14 "For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him: but it was thou, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance. We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company."
We cannot control where hurt comes from. Sometimes the people you would least expect to hurt you do. Sometimes people turn on you.
All you can do is keep your eyes on Christ. He will never let you down. He will never hurt you. He will never disappoint.
He is the one that has the balm of Gilead to heal our wounded and broken hearts. We must stay close to him. We must depend upon him. We must rest wholly upon him for everything. He must become our everything.
